Treatment is tailored to your personal needs

Safe, gentle and effective. Working in harmony with your own body.

Herbal Medicine gets to the core of the imbalance / disharmony rather than only providing freedom from symptoms.

Works on all levels of well being; emotional and spiritual as well as physical.

Some of the many conditions that can be helped using herbs together with appropriate changes to lifestyle and diet are: Weakened immunity; women's problems; arthritis/gout; irritable bowel; skin conditions; candida; allergies; asthma/bronchitis; anxiety/stress; depression.

Herbal Medicine: powerful medicine

'magic but no myth'

The practice of herbal medicine offers the sufferer not just relief from symptoms but an improved standard of general health and vitality.

Dis-ease is simply a reflection of the fact that the body is out of balance. Symptoms of disease occur as an attempt by the body to restore that balance.

It is therefore important to discover where the underlying disharmony has arisen in the body e.g. digestive system, cardiovascular system etc. When one sees a patient suffering from hypertension (high blood pressure), the root of the problem may be the liver which, when congested, will cause impedance to blood flowing through this region resulting in back pressure. As this pressure builds up there is increasingly a strain on the heart leading to inefficient functioning. Another common cause of hypertension is tension and stress. When stress occurs there is general contraction occurring all over the body. A similar impedance to blood flow will occur.

Commonly in herbal medicine a practitioner will use a herb or herbs to relax normal striated muscle which is under conscious control together with a herb to relax smooth muscle which lines blood vessels, the intestine, uterus, respiratory bronchi, urinary bladder and the eye and is not normally under conscious control.

Since herbs are, by definition plants, they should be looked at as an extension or refinement of a healthy diet. It is also important to realise that they will not work in a vacuum. Good nutrition is paramount. So much of todays food in the west is refined, processed and preserved leading to a loss of vitamins, minerals and trace elements and many other enzymes and important components that make food nutritious. Then to add insult to injury chemical colourings, preservatives and other additives are thrown in for good measure. Did you know that bread can contain up to 38 permitted additives including bleach to make it nice and white.

Once one finds, isolates and synthesizes an active constituent from a herb, the active isolated ingredient is removed from the other powerful constituents in the plant which balance and potentate it. A good example of this is white willow, Salix alba, whose active constituent is salicylic acid. From this, the drug aspirin is manufactured. Most people are aware the irritating effect aspirin can have on the stomach lining which can lead to ulceration in habitual users. Willow doesn't upset the stomach because the salicylic acid is balanced with other constituents.

Dandelion

Herbal remedies do not have the aggressive and invasive action of modern drugs. Instead they provide the necessary trace elements, vitamins and medicinal substances in a harmonious whole so as to return a sick person to full health.

I find it very reassuring that the majority of herbs used today have been in use for centuries or even thousands of years. No modern clinical trial of a new drug can match this.

Furthermore scientific research into the action of plants confirm many of the ancient beliefs concerning the medicinal properties of many herbs.

Below are three testimonials from current patients. The first three quotes are at different times emails from the same patient.

Your medication and diet sheet work amazingly well. My breathing is so much improved, I did not think it would ever be possible again. I have not taken any HRT tablets since you gave me your medication. Apart from a few hot flushes do I not feel any ill effects. Therefore I am delighted with my decision to seek out the help of a herbalist. I see a profound improvement and am very grateful to you.

'By the way, I have not felt so good in ages, than since taking your medication, which will be also due to changes in lifestyle. Trust me, you know what you are talking about.'

My Bronchitis is completely under control, acid reflux is much better, not perfect but very much improved. You certainly are on the right track. I have not felt so well as I do at the moment in a long time.

Mrs V.B.

I am really glad I chose you when I looked on the internet you are a kind and caring person, I can tell by the way you are concerned. I have been wonderful today so I thank God each day for my wellness.
Mrs. S.M.

Diagnosed with 'Rheumatoid arthritis', I was put on loads of drugs and told that my condition would gradually deteriorate. I began to look for other options, talking to people, reading, and the Internet. I then consulted Anne who had the knowledge to help combine what I had learnt and guide me through. We made alterations to my diet and she prescribed a tincture of herbs.
With time, I feel that I am getting better from the inside out. My digestive system feels stronger and, the swelling in my joints has gone down.
Now, if I eat an 'offending' food my joints swell, but I am slowly learning which external and internal factors affect me.
I feel stronger, healthier and more like I have a future ahead, which at 28 is quite nice.

Ms A.C. Wolverhampton
