Herb Profile : Pasque flower (Anemone pulsatilla)

This very beautiful little flower is one of my favourite herbs. It is extremely versatile and ‘reaches parts other herbs don’t’ It has especial reference to the organs of sense and the urinogenital system. It is a wonderful safe, analgesic painkiller and sedative as well as being anti-inflammatory for all types of problems associated with these regions. E.g. earache, conjunctivitis, eye tics etc. Pulsatilla is brilliant to help arrest excessive catarrh from the eyes, nose, ears and eyes. It relaxes asthmatic, bronchitic and whooping coughs.

I find it invaluable for ovarian pain, any pelvic nerve irritation, and painful periods and well as orchitis (pain of testis). I also find it very useful for depression and anxiety, headaches, neuralgia, nervous exhaustion, panic, apprehension and fear.
Anemone has a particular affinity for fair, blue-eyed people.

Avoid using this plant fresh or if you suffer from gastritis.
